The flagship programme of BMT College is the Advanced Diploma in Business Management. This comprehensive programme is structured around six modules that cover various aspects of business management. The research component equips students with the skills to conduct fact-based research, enabling them to make informed decisions and demonstrate effective leadership.
The programme begins by setting the stage with the first module in Strategic Management. Subsequent modules build upon this foundation by emphasising the creation of holistic business strategies that encompass all facets of the organisation. For instance, the business strategy influences the human resource strategy, encompassing aspects such as recruitment, organisational behaviour, and cultivating the desired corporate culture.
Operations management encompasses pricing, logistics, and distribution, which are the practical execution of the business strategy. Marketing strategies, including brand decisions, public relations, and customer service, directly impact operations and the financial performance of the organisation, as discussed in the Management Accounting module. Moreover, business ethics and social responsibility must align with the organisation’s vision, mission, and strategic positioning. When these ideals are in harmony, the organisation is on track for success.
In addition to acquiring advanced knowledge in various subjects, this programme aims to illustrate to students that all parts of a business work collaboratively to execute the organisation’s vision and strategy effectively.
Further Studies
The Advanced Diploma in Business Management is a registered NQF level 7 programme registered with SAQA and accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). It not only prepares students for a career in business leadership but also enables them to pursue further studies, such as a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration Honours, and similar qualifications. Although BMT College does not currently offer these programs, they are available at various institutions in South Africa.

How to start with the ADBM
BMT College students who have successfully completed the Diploma in Business Management or the Diploma in Human Resource Management (NQF level 6) automatically qualify to register for the Advanced Diploma. Applicants who have completed an appropriate three-year NQF level 6 Diploma in a similar field or a bachelor’s degree in any field may also qualify to register for the programme.
The easiest route, if you have yet to do any other qualifications after matric, is to register for and complete the Diploma in Business Management and then continue with the Advanced Diploma in Business Management. (Entry requirements for the Diploma are a matric, or RPL, or mature age exemption).

Study Duration
The Advanced Diploma in Business Management can be completed in one year, or in eighteen months, depending on how you want to approach the research component. The ADBM is registered as a 120-credit, NQF level 7 programme with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). 120 credit programmes are typically one-year qualifications.
If you are starting from scratch (no previous qualifications), then you will first start with the Diploma in Business Management, a three-year accredited programme on NQF level 6, and then continue with the Advanced Diploma in Business Management that can be completed in one year.
NOTE: It is not necessary to first do the Higher Certificate in Business Management (NQF level 5). If you start with the Higher Certificate, then you will still need to basically complete the full Diploma before getting access to the Advanced Diploma.
