Good morning, BMT!
“Even the greatest was once a beginner. Don’t be afraid to take the first step.” – Muhammad Ali.
It is Orientation week! This Friday (the 8th of March 2024), we welcome all our old and new students to the first semester of 2024 who will take the first step on the journey to success. I know some of you have already started, but it will be great to see you on Friday morning. To those students still thinking about furthering their studies, you are also welcome to join us at 9 am.
It is easy to take the first step and start your studies at BMT College:
- Register online.
- Make the first easy payment.
- Log in on the Virtual Campus and start your studies.
We also take a look at what else is happening at BMT, which includes the first of our 2024 webinar series, which Nathalie Tuck, an expert in the field of public relations, will present.
Getting motivated for the week and take that first step
Muhammad Ali was not the first to mention the importance of taking the first step. Lao Tzu (6th century BCE) said that the “Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
Maya Angelou, Martin Luther King (Jr.), Joyce Meyer, Confucius, Neil Gaiman, and Vincent van Gogh, to name a few, all saw the importance of that very first step. Often the most difficult one. The one that is supposed to bring your stationary being into motion. The step that is supposed to launch the journey.
Is it only me that, more often than not, take that first step very tentatively?
It is a good thing that the whole journey does not require the momentum or force of that first step as fuel! But that is where motivation comes in. Motivation to start, motivation to continue, motivation to persevere, motivation to get up and start again. Motivation to finish well.
But, none of that matters if we do not take that all important first step, however tentative it may be. So, even if your first step is to check out what studying with BMT College is about, take that first step to start your studies at BMT College.
What is happening next at BMT?
The Orientation Day on Friday, the 8th of March 2024, is high on our agenda for this week. There is one assignment due on Wednesday, and then also the submission date on Friday for ACM matters.

Besides the ongoing panel interviews, we only have one assignment due on Wednesday, the 6th of March 2024. Good luck to all our students working on their assignments this week. Please remember to check your assignment due dates and plan accordingly.

BMT College 2024 Webinar Series
On Thursday, the 14th of March 2024, we will host our first in a series of webinars over lunch.
Nathalie Tuck will join us to talk about the pivotal role of public relations in organisational success. She is an expert in her field, representing some of the largest industries in South Africa. We have a lot to learn from her. Book the date, and invite your friends, colleagues, and managers.
The first webinar is not to be missed!
Heading into the week
I know some people like to get a headstart to the week on a Sunday evening. But for me, Mondays are always the first step into the week. And even when that first step sometimes gets a little crazy, I can adjust and get back on track.
Have an awesome week, everyone, and see you on Friday!
