Subjects and Modules

Subject: HR Planning and Administration III

Gain insights into various compensation systems, rewards and benefits, and the payroll system during the first subject of the final year. In this module, we will explore the various aspects of remunerating and rewarding employees. We will cover different types of rewards and pay systems, as well as introduce the concept of job evaluation for classifying and ranking jobs. Additionally, we will discuss incentives and benefits, and delve into the challenges of relating pay to performance. Variable pay, including incentive schemes and employee benefits, will also be examined. We will then move on to managing payroll, providing an overview of SARS and other legal requirements. The module will address confidentiality and security, covering deductions and allowances permitted by law. We will explain employees’ taxes and IRP5s. By the end of this module, you will have the skills to calculate remuneration, including gross pay, periodic payments, and deductions for union fees, medical contributions, and more. Lastly, we will guide you through preparing and balancing employee records for tax purposes based on salary records.

Subject: Organisational Behaviour

In this subject we deepen your understanding of leadership, leadership theories and implementation of leadership in the organisation. Subject: Labour and Industrial Relations III

The last subject of the Diploma will equip you with the skills you need for bargaining, negotiation, and handling strikes in South Africa. Learn how to effectively address grievances and implement a code of conduct in your organisation.
